Bapu Bazar Jaipur is most lovable place for me. Every time I visit Jaipur I would definitely go to Bapu Bazar at least once for about 4-5 hours for window shopping.
This time also I am visiting here and today also it is as beautiful, colorful as always been and gives lots of options for shopping. This place never disappoints me.
Bapu Bazar Jaipur
Jaipur is known for its royal families, forts and havelis and shopping of traditional handicraft items. Bapu Bazar is situated right in the heart of Jaipur City, in Johari Bazar at Sanganeri Gate and this market also resemble the pink color of historic and royal Pink City.
Bapu Bazar is known for all the traditional outfits, handicrafts, antiques, footwear, jewelry pieces and beautiful decorative items.
I am very fond of roadside shopping and this place offers a wide variety of stuff on the roadside.
Bapu Bazar is a major interest not only for locality but also for the tourists from all over the world. I have been visiting this place since childhood and used to buy anklets, footwear, t-shirts and earrings etc.
What all you can buy at Bapu Bazar Jaipur?
This place is a hub for many beautiful and colorful stuff. Authentic and traditional kurtis, bedsheets, Jaipuri quilts, textiles, skirts and T-shirts with Sanganeri Print, bagru print, traditional block print and bandhani work in beautiful colors are available at great and affordable prices.

Bangles and Jewelry pieces of gemstones, kundan meena, chunky neck pieces, earring, bracelets and anklets are the lifeline of Bapu Bazar.
Lots of options in Mojari (traditional Rajasthani leather footwear) and other comfortable and flat footwear and all are at a very reasonable price. Lots and lots of handicraft items like puppets, bandhanwars, wall hangings and white metal artefacts and home décor which gives a unique and different look to a home.
If you want to buy something good and traditional items then Bapu Bazar is one of the best go-to places. I would highly recommend visiting this place whenever you get a chance to go to Jaipur.
The streets of Bapu Bazar is full of vibrant colors red, pink and green which are eye-catching and gives a view of the authentic colors of Rajasthan and Pink City. Moreover, it is connected to all the major roads and nearby markets.

If anyone is tired with shopping then you have plenty of refreshment options like Pani Puri, Lassi, Juice, Kulfi or Chaat items and many more. If I write then one page will be full of those options. I recommend trying as many street food options as your time and appetite allows.
Why I love Bapu Bajar?
Every time I visit Bapu Bazar I have to purchase either a pair of anklets or wallets or something which is colourful and sometimes I buy items which I already have plenty because every time I see these wallets or anklets have something in unique.
This time again, I purchased bangles, a pair of earrings, anklets, fridge magnets.
You need to know the art of bargaining while buying something.
I love bargaining with shopkeeper and Shopkeeper also know that customer will bargain for sure hence these people keep a price little higher than their selling price to provide scope for the bargain.

I bargained with shopkeepers for decorative items got a little discount which is more satisfactory then going for 80% sale in a mall 🙂 :). But few kinds of stuff are so beautiful that I want to buy even those even if the vendor doesn’t give me discounts 🙂

Hello, I want to know the history of the bazar. Where it was originaly created? The same place it is today before the construction?
Namaste Ana. Bapu Bazar is comparatively new. There was an underground drainage system at the location of Bapu Bazar once. After the turbulent times of 1947 partition, Jaipur too received thousands of migrants from Sindh and Punjab part of Pakistan. Then government decided to allot them land on subsidized rates to provide them employment. Shops were allotted at Bapu Bazar also. As a result, you will find most of the shops in the market are owned by Punjabi and Sindhi community people. Soon the hardworking communities of Punjabis and Sindhis converted the market in a major tourist market in Jaipur. Hope it answers your question. Feel free to contact for any other info. Regards.
